Understanding the Trinity: Three Persons in One God

The concept of the Trinity can be confusing to a new convert or an unbeliever who is aspiring to become a Christian.

There is just ONE TRUE GOD that has ever existed. He alone is to be acknowledged, served, and worshipped, bearing in mind the trinity of persons in the Godhead. You will see references made to JESUS CHRIST (God the Son), HOLY SPIRIT (God the Holy Spirit) often on this blog. For clarification, they are One with God the Father. All three together are called GOD. There are not three Gods but three persons in one God, having the same nature and attributes. Each is distinct but inseparable. They act in complete harmony.

The Trinity is admittedly a difficult concept for anyone to understand and explain, and will always be a mystery. However it is implied in the Old Testament (see Genesis 1:26, Genesis 11:7, Isaiah 6:8, Isaiah 9:6), and revealed in the New Testament (see Matthew 28:19, John 14:26, John 14:23, Reference Acts 5:3-5).

Shalom!
