If you are not yet born-again, you may find it
difficult to believe that God indeed lives in us; but He does, through His Spirit.
The Spirit of God lives in the body of every Christian who has accepted Jesus
Christ as their Lord and Saviour, which is why the Bible says “our bodies are
the temples of the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:19). We must always remember
that once the Spirit begins to dwell in us, we cease to own ourselves.
'Ceasing to own ourselves' in this context implies
living for God alone, living only according to His own will and purpose,
pleasing Him at all times, making decisions as He guides, and doing absolutely
everything His own way. Our interests no longer matter and we begin to walk,
not after the flesh, but the Spirit.
